Jane Inge

Furniture designer/maker Jane has been in the design world for many years, working overseas and in NZ. Her experience in creating outdoor spaces has influenced her furniture work which examines the interaction between solid and void. Her pieces develop from everyday life; random shapes, details, shadows, textures and connections slowly distil into objects which have Jane’s trademark style of elegant simplicity through functionality. Due to the individual nature of wood, finished pieces are either unique or limited edition. All timber used is grown in Aotearoa and finished with natural oils. Offcuts are repurposed and often odd shapes take on a design of their own. Sawdust and shavings are used in the hazelnut orchard, completing the cycle.
